Chaophraya Edinburgh

This Thai restaurant was highly recommended by both a local tour guide and a fellow traveller! The restaurant is large with a view of Edinburgh castle from the balcony. The indoor decor is lovely, with a big fish tank that we were sat next to, and the servers were kind. Our food (spring rolls, pad thai) was delicious. Definitely worth visiting!

Our first visit was simply marvelous. I can't recommend Chaopraya enough. The food was delicious, generously apportioned and exquisitely presented. I definitely can recommend the banana fritters with ice cream for dessert and the sweet and sour chicken with Dragonfruit. Also their fries were exceptional, they had a unique smokey flavor and unique shape.

Excellent restaurant and stunning views! I made a reservation for my birthday and had the most amazing evening at Chaophraya Thai! I want to thank the staff for accommodating my request to have a table near the window and for going above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect! The waiting staff were knowledgeable and passionate about what they were doing as well as helpful when it came to making sure our food was perfect and that the table was clear whenever we'd finish that course. We would love to go back and we are thankful to have gotten a chance to taste your delicious dishes prepared with the outmost care and attention. Thank you so much for everything ( the fact that this is a family owned restaurant made us even more proud to have been here and even happier to have chosen this restaurant for our special occasion )!

This is an amazing place! When you first arrive it feels like you are entering an office building. But once you take the lift and exit you feel right at home! Friendly staff, fabulous food and for a special evening, the place to be! Highly recommend! Certainly will visit again when I next go to Edinburgh! Remember to book even if it is the night before!

Fantastic night, scrumptious food, stylish cocktails and highly attentive service. Great entrance, interior decor, bar, glass conservatory seating as requested which really made our night special. Food was perfect with good sized portions, even had to get a to-go bag because I couldn't let anything go to waste. Everything about our experience was 5-Star. If you want a classy, memorable dinner out, book this place.

Had a lovely time with Chaophraya! The food was incredible and so was the service by Elmo! She was super helpful with the menu and making amazing recommendations and the food was out of the box and so were the cocktails! The bar is super friendly with any sorts of changes with the drinks which made an additional point! Highly recommend!

We went here for a family dinner a while ago. It’s a lovely restaurant with great views of Edinburgh. I had the spring rolls to start which were delicious but enormous so bare that in mind! I followed this with the pork belly Pad Thai. This was nice but the pork belly was a bit hard. I’ve been before and had the chicken Pad Thai and that was much better. I had the mango beer too and this was also delicious. The waiters were lovely but the service was quite slow but I imagine this was because they had a massive group in a private room. At the end of the meal, we were allowed to go and look on the balcony and had great views of the sunset. It’s a lovely setting for a special dinner but I’ve had slightly nicer Thai food elsewhere in Edinburgh.

Excellent Thai Restaurant. Extraordinary good service, very nice and helpful. We had to wait at the bar as we where a little early and got offered a Glas of water for free. Drinks at the bar where great. We had a table with a fantastic view, you can ask for it in the reservation. The menu is great and the food was excellent. We had a great evening. If you are looking for a high class Thai restaurant in Edinburgh you should clearly consider the Chaopharaya.

Beautiful views over Edinburgh , prefect location to catch the sunset over the west. Food was really tasty , portions are large but if you over order they will kindly pack you up a doggy bag , there were bags on lots of tables so we weren’t the only ones with eyes bigger than our bellies , we went for the vegetarian set menu - staff were wonderful and attentive and really friendly - great value and well worth a visit. Book ahead of you want a good view.
