Mario's Market

This is a great little Italian market. There is a lot of competition in Delray, but each has its own standout items. I feel Mario's has the best sausage around. I also think they have the best marinated mushrooms. Its small enough that the owner knows us regulars and that counts for a big part of why I shop there.

I prefer to support small businesses like Mario’s Market. The prepared foods are really fresh and delicious and the guys at the deli are really nice and helpful. I come here weekly for my broccoli rabe, pasta, and sauces. What really stood out for me was the fruits/vegetables. They are really high quality and fresh, which is hard to find these days. I noticed that some of the prices have gone up recently which is understandable but last time I went they were out of a lot of pasta and pasta sauces. Hope you restock soon! (:

Bought Cannoli to bring to a family dinner and boy did they go fast!! I bought the minis and they were just the right size. I watched as they were filled with the cream.... they had just a hint of cinnamon and had small chocolate chunks. OMG, so so good!! A definite for future gatherings as everyone loved them!! Mario's has a great Italian bakery with lots of pastries!!!

The market is very nice and very friendly people, but I have to say that I am very disappointed with their Chicken Parm sub, I was let down big for an Italian Market. They take what looks like great pieces of chicken cutlets and proceed to cut add sauce and cheese in a plate and put in the Microwave for 4 minutes! The Microwave! Making the chicken cut now rubbery and then put on a nice Italian hoagie bread without at least toasting it! Wow! I really didn’t expect that. I was told they have done it this way for twenty years! That doesn’t make it right. This sub would be elevated so much if they would just put in the oven to heat the cutlets, sauce and cheese and toast the sub. Try it, you’ll see the difference in quality and taste. But I do say it’s a wonderful Italian market, they have great a bakery.
