Osaka Japanese Restaurant

The former owner (Jenny) used to run this place very well. She was always attentive to the customers, polite and eager to provide quality sushi at a reasonable price. My wife and I would eat here at least once a week and genuinely liked it for 15 years. When she sold the business, everything changed. I realize COVID was hard on restaurants however I feel most places have gotten back on their feet. I do not patronize this place anymore for 2 reasons. First is their quality of food inconsistency. It's very hit and miss and any restaurant that cannot deliver quality food consistently isn't worth the risk. Sometimes it's fresh and the taste of the food reflects that and other times you question whether you are eating old product. Not ideal. And lastly is their staff and attention to detail. We ordered online sooo many times and wrote "shell fish allergy" countless times within the order. Upon arrival I'd sit at the bar and wait because it was rarely ready on time and even said "please be sure they understand I have a shell fish allergy" of which they responded "yes, yes." The last two times I came home with shrimp in my sushi. It's ridiculous. I miss the old days of this restaurant and the owner who cared about her business. Going back even farther, we also miss Nick...he was amazing.

I ordered a roll with tuna that did not look safe to eat. When I called the gentleman over he insisted it was fresh. But my friend ordered tuna as well and his was pink (please refer to the photos I've included to see the difference in color). I pointed this out and he offered to bring me new tuna at an additional charge. I said I'm not interested in paying more and asked if I could substitute it for something else. Hey said yes, brought me a different roll and then charged me for the substitution. He also spent the entire time in the back not hearing us when we called for assistance.

This place has been the worst Japanese restaurant I have been to in all of my 22 years living on this planet. I ordered a chicken teriyaki with rice and the rice was hard. And the chicken breast I could have just made at home by myself. This dish did not look like the chicken teriyaki that I am use to at other Japanese restaurant. I even came across a bone in my chicken teriyaki. I’m pretty sure that not suppose to be in there. And all of there popular dishes are disgusting. The waitresses are terrible with checking on 1 or two tables that they have. Since no one else comes here. And now I see why! Another situation I encountered is my girlfriend order the so called popular sushi and she didn’t like it so instead of the restaurant having us get something else or even taking it off the check, like many other restaurants do, they charge us for it and still told us to take the food home because we may like it later lol. Or we have another really good option(sarcasm)… is to pay for another meal and they would give us 10 percent off. If u want to save yourself never visit this restaurant because there customer satisfaction is terrible! They only care about money! The lady knew we where unhappy when we left and rudely said goodbye to us. There loss when they run out of busy by treating their customer like this. Because I can’t even imagine how bad their online service is. Even since this place got sold it’s been terrible ever since. My bad experience took place May 22, 2022.
