Drake's Duck-in

Thursdays late night at Drake's. They were opened late tonight to participate in First Thursdays on Main Street in Columbia. It's been over 10 years since I have eaten their tasty chicken. Tonight we had the hot 2-piece with rolls. a slice of pound cake and sodas. The Staff was very friendly. I do recommend and will return.

First time eating here was today. Was on door dash trying to find something new and this little place showed up so I decided to give it a chance. I ordered the chili cheese dog with onions, 4 chicken fingers, and chili cheese fries. The fingers were great , fully cooked, flavorful, and about medium sized. They honey mustard they have a sweet and tastes great. The chili cheese fries were ok. I did not like the chili on the fries, it had a sweet taste to it but it was NOT horrible, just not my taste. The actual fries were crispy and the cheese they used was shredded not queso. I prefer queso. The chilil cheese dog was great. Oddly enough, the chili used on the hotdog was good and not sweet at all so I actually enjoyed that. Next time I choose to eat here I will make sure that I go in person to check out the brick and mortar!

Great, reasonably priced, fried chicken. The cole slaw and french fries sides were also quite good and well-seasoned. 3-piece chicken basket and drink was about $10 and it filled me up nicely. They sell desserts from a local bakery, but on my visit they were out of nearly everything. Must be good? The servers were friendly and the wait time was reasonable, though they weren't very busy. As of March 2022, their restaurant seating area was under construction, so seating is limited and the area is somewhat cluttered. The cleanliness level was B-grade ... not bad, but could have been better. I attribute some of this to the construction.

The staff is extremely nice and welcoming! Especially for it being my first time. Service is out of this world. They kept it really clean inside and the food is 10/10! ! I highly recommend giving them a shot if you haven’t already. I love supporting local businesses and this spot was the perfect choice. Great job Drake’s Duck-In 🙌

Nice little place downtown Columbia. Currently under some renovation. Food was good and coffee was hot and tasty. Decor was out of the 70's. Decent prices. They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I had the ham and cheese omelette. Wife had the bacon, egg and cheese sandwich and daughter had eggs sunny side up.

Customer service was not on point on my visit. There were two representatives up front. The female rep was slow and leaning on the counter not presenting herself as someone willing to assist customers. The male rep was busy trying to handle the online orders that weee coming in. I ordered a wing snack and a side of fries but didn’t receive the fries. I stood in line for 8 minutes to get the item. There were several other patrons in line expressing their displeasure with the poor service being provided. The restaurant is undergoing renovation which limits space inside. There was a supervisor of sorts who came up front and saw that there was a line of patrons but did not assist her overwhelmed crew. I will not return even though the chicken was pretty good.
