Waffle House

Stopped by on a late Sunday night. Most other restaurants were closed. We were the only eat-in customers, but they seemed to have a brisk carry-out business. Restrooms were clean. Waitress was kind, food was nice... I had the chicken sandwich. It's been years and years since I've eaten in a Waffle House. Atmosphere so much nicer now that it is nonsmoking. Same great hashbrown choices. I like their policy of a 20% upcharge on to-go orders. Half goes toward tip. Don't know what they pay, but waitress said she was glad to work there. A dependable place to find decent food 24/7

They were very busy. I had to ask if someone was assigned to our table. The person I asked said she was not but she would take our order. She also called it in and delivered our food to us. She was busy with her own section but she still took great care of us. I definitely will return and hopefully sit in her section.

Okay, it's Waffle House, so you like it or you don't. My family likes breakfast for dinner. When we went, there seemed to be a problem, one of the employees stormed off screaming. The staff recovered, even laughing a bit about it. We were served well, and the food was good. We even listened to a couple of songs on the jukebox. Good family meal for half the price of another sit-down restaurant.
