El Ranchero Mexican Restaurant

They have complimentary chips and salsa. I have been here multiple times and tried many different dishes. Today, I had the chicked chimichanga with a side of rice and pico de gallo. It was delicious. I have also had their nachos, which were lacking in the flavor department, and the same goes for the taco salad, in my opinion. But one dish I have had multiple times and by far my favorite dish here is the southwestern chimichangas. They are consistent with this dish and spot on flavor. My other favorites are the grilled chicken quesadilla and chicken fajitas. The four star rating is because of the consistency of these two dishes. While I have ordered both dishes multiple times, every once in a while, the meat will be a bit dry/overcooked but still edible. It's definitely not a reason to keep me away. Also, the service got a four star because some of the wait staff have trouble with their English, making it hard to understand them and to place your order from time to time. That said, I have only had one interaction where a server was rude and not attentive to their tables. (But I have had really good service from that same server before and since. So I will just chalk it up to a bad day.)

The service has always been nice & attentive. I don't think I've tried anything I haven't liked. 1. If you like shrimp you have to try the Shrimp Chimichanga. 2. Caldo De 7 Mares soup is very messy (peeling seafood) but so good. I'm glad I took this one home to eat. 3. Chimichanga Cheesecake -Wow! 4. Grilled Fish tacos was so good with the chipotle cream sauce & other toppings. 5. Southwestern Chimichanga -Amazing! 6. Hamburger Hawaiano -is a grilled chicken and it was so tender.

My husband and I ate here for dinner. We were staying in a hotel about 30 min to the north, and I found this restaurant on Google Maps and was drawn to the review rating. So we wanted to try it. We both tried the pick 2 dinner. My husband ordered a bean burrito, a beef chimichanga, a side of refried beans, and he made it deluxe with the lettuce sour cream and tomatoes. I ordered a beef chimichanga and a beef quesadilla that came with rice and refried beans. The service was on point. The restaurant was clean. The food came out hot.
