Half Day Cafe

Five stars, hands down! My wife and I love to eat at the echo in Hyde Park but it's a bit of a drive for us. We just happen to be looking for a breakfast spot and came across this one. We came on a Sunday at noon and it was busy, but we were able to sit right down at the bar. We ordered the huevos divorcionados and an omelet. Both were absolutely delicious and there was not a drop of food left on our plates. There were so many other good looking items on the menu that we will definitely be back.

We came in on Sunday morning and despite being busy, we were seated within 15 minutes. I ordered the Mango Butter Rum French toast. It's a unique flavor, and I really liked it. I would definitely get it again and highly recommend it. My husband ordered the Breakfast Combo with scrambled eggs, sausage patties, potatoes, and Mango Butter Rum pancakes. He wasn't as impressed with his meal. The potatoes needed more seasoning and his pancakes were severely undercooked...as in the middle of the pancakes were raw batter. BUT- our server immediately took care of it and even discounted our bill. That is why we would absolutely return. Mistakes happen, but how you handle those mistakes is what leaves a lasting impression.

I absolutely love this place. It's a small, locally owned breakfast cafe and it's adorable. Ryan was awesome and took very good care of us. The muffins were delicious, my chai tea latte was perfect and the eggs and bacon my mom got were devoured in 5 minutes! We will definitely be coming back to this little gem of a place!
