The Green Man Cambridge

The food was magnificent. We sat in the garden Sunday lunchtime, it was really busy. Ordered using the app on my phone. Brilliant. Only thing was when the food was served, we had no cutlery or condiments. We sat for what seemed like ages with our food cooling, before the waiter eventually returned with them. Food brilliant. 5 spotless plates from 3 adults & 2 children... Thank you..!

The staff were amazing, friendly, helpful & attentive. However, we had been held up by traffic & had phoned to inform the restaurant that although we were going to be late we were still definitely still coming. When we arrived we were told they were just about to cancel our booking, I pointed out that I had phoned twice to say we were on our way but they had been too busy to answer the phone or check messages. Despite this it didn't spoil our visit as all the staff we had contact with were very attentive.

Rhys was really courteous, often asking whether the food was okay and if there was anything else we needed. He has looked after our table before and has always provided excellent service. Although we had a large table, the food arrived at the same time and was nice, despite the fact that the steaks had a slight taste of burned grill.

This pub is just lovely! There were 14 of us and we all pre-ordered lunch, which was delicious, ranging from Tempura prawn sandwiches to nourish bowls and burgers. The food was cooked perfectly and was all hot where appropriate. Everyone said they really enjoyed their dishes. The restaurant staff were great and nothing was too much or too little for them or the bar staff. The environment is very relaxing and I love the lighting. The signature sodas are fantastic!

I had such a lovely experience at The Green Man in Cambridge this evening after winner next to nothing at the Newmarket races. Sarah was our waitress and gave us a warm welcome upon arrival. I ordered the Fillet Steak medium rare and I kid you not, this was nicer than any Miller and Carter restaurant I have visited. The steak was the right colour and was nice and warm upon arrival. I would say my steak experience was better than visiting a Gaucho’s steak house in London, COMPLIMENTS TO THE CHEF!!! This is my first visit with friends and will definitely return next time I’m in the area 😁 Mitchell and Butlers, please open a Green Man in or around the Basingstoke area! THANKS SARAH!!!
