The Dish Room

Best restaurant to stop at along I-70. Awesome! All around, yup, definitely worth stopping here. We were traveling and decided to stop for dinner. The owners are world travelers and know food! They have an awesome drink menu of special house cocktails and the food menu is just awesome. We ordered the butternut squash enchiladas and seafood pasta bake. The flavors they put together are so incredibly good! And the portion size is large as well. The service was outstanding. We were seated promptly, the place is huge so lots of room, super attentive and friendly server, host and the whole kitten caboodle. We will make it a point to come back here when passing through again.

What a fantastic little find in a small town off of i70 once you've entered Colorado coming from Kansas. I suggest getting there before the lunch crowd (1130) during the work week. We arrived right at 1120 and the restaurant quickly filled up right after us. I understand why, as this restaurant is a gem. I splurged a little and got the infused water for an extra $2. It had a blackberry taste and was refreshing. I highly recommend the poppers for an appetizer. They were wrapped with bacon and filled with Gouda cheese. My husband got a sandwich with mushrooms and steak and he said it was the best he's ever had. I got the lunch special (a chicken and bacon Alfredo pasta) and it hit the spot. If I'm ever driving this way again, I'll certainly stop here.

Clean, big place. Nice outdoor seating. Very friendly staff and lots of them! We had tenderloin filet, fries (real cut potatoes- very good), and a salad (nice lettuce variety and carrots and tomatoes. Also had carnivore burger (ham, bacon, burger, egg, cheddar and sesame bun) w tamale. Very good experience.

This was a pleasant surprise!! Just traveling through and found it online, it looks more like something you would find in Dallas or Denver. The menu had a lot of variety and interesting options. We started with the mango ceviche, it wasn't great. Entrées were the red fish & pork belly and lobster ravioli, both were fantastic! The presentation was that of a 5 star dining experience, the portions were large and the taste was delicious. Definitely recommend.

We stopped here for an early dinner on our way home from a cross country trip. Absolutely blown away at the service, the food and the atmosphere. James was our server and he took plenty of time explaining not only his favorite dishes but also some of the other popular dishes. I ordered the Japanese striploin with a brussell hash as a side and my fiance ordered the pork belly and snapper. We also ordered the poppers as an appetizer. There were so many flavors that were so complimentary to each other. We had a very difficult time figuring out what to order and really wish that this was much closer to our home so that we could come more often and try everything on the menu. There aren't enough words of praise to describe the entire experience.

Yo! You need to stop here! The Dish Room is GOOD! And we loved our sweet waitress, Kendra of Illinois! She is a total sweetheart. ♥️ The menu is well-though-out and the drink menu is great... they even thought of adding MOCKTAILS (for us 40-somethings who now eschew alcohol - recovery isn’t so great anymore, haha!) ... we ordered the brussel sprout hash and it was THE BOMB. The rest of the food was amazing, too! It wasn’t the kind of establishment that we expected to find in Eastern Colorado just past the Kansas-Colorado border. The menu shows that the owners love traveling and like to bring nifty flavors to their restaurant. Check this place out!

Passing through on our way to the east coast we stopped for lunch at the Dish Room. The restaurant, food, and people were fantastic. My wife had a beautiful black goat salad (contains no goat), while I had the summer time wrap with flash fried brussel sprouts. They had some incredible poppers for an appetizer that are much more fresh than you would find anywhere else. Although Burlington is a small, agricultural town, the Dish Room is more eclectic than you would think. One of my favorite restaurant finds ever. Not sure if I’ll ever be around Burlington again, but if I’m anywhere relatively close I’ll stop by.
