The Tousey House Tavern

Thirteen of us ate here and we were not disappointed! I highly recommend you make reservations for dinner at this wonderful restaurant. The filet mignon was the most thick and tender I have ever eaten! The waiter was very efficient and pleasant. All others were very pleased with their food choices, also. The Hot Brown looked very good and I was told it was the best hot brown my friend had ever eaten. This restaurant is within 20 minutes from the Ark Encounter. Eating there definitely topped off a wonderful day visiting the Creation Museum!!

We were a party of 18 celebrating my daughters 30th. I was so excited to have a family birthday dinner and to eat here for the first time. I think I scrolled thru their whole FB page..3x lol. I got the Tousey house sirloin with green beans and a house salad. One half of my steak was cooked to order (medium) and cut like butter BUT the other half was rare! There were about 10 other steaks ordered and the same complaint or not cooked to order. Someone ordered the Tousey Pasta and loved it. Our reservation was from 5pm to 7pm. We didn't get seated until after 5:30pm because there was another party there. When we got up stair and everything was rushed so that they could seat the next reservation party on time. I brought in mini bundt cakes to eat after dinner. In the middle of serving out the cake we had to rush, the birthday girl didn't get to eat her cake. For the amount of money spent (over $860.00) one would think to have been able to enjoy our time there. I wanted a relaxed, classy dinner to celebrate her birthday.... I can't speak for everyone else's food experience but my salad and green beans good, yet if my steak had been cooked to order then it would have been aweome! Stephen and his Wait staff was awesome. Any and all needs were immediately taken care of. I do plan to return with a party of 2 just so I can experience everything as it should be. Can't wait!

Great atmosphere, food was good, but the waitstaff need EXTENSIVE training. We waited a very long time to be greeted by our waiter, to receive drinks, to order, the timing and pacing of the meal was ridiculous... and on and on. For example, one salad (of two) arrived before the appetizer, then while eating the appetizer the second salad(which we had to ask for) arrived, then a few more bites into the appetizer our meals arrived. Plates were handed to us, not placed. Servers reached across us, they also dropped silverware onto the table (instead of placing). Honestly, it goes on. Perhaps at Olive Garden this might not have bothered us as much, but the prices and atmosphere of this place demanded far better service. We were greatly disappointed with our evening there. Oh, and it was really cold in there. REALLY wanted to love it there, especially since it was our anniversary, but we won't be back.

My wife and I found this gem one day while doing a Google search. We figured that we would give it a try. The description had us intrigued. Kentucky fine dining. We took the suggestion and made a reservation, arrived early and were promptly seated. The staff was pleasant and welcoming. They made us feel like we were long time customers on our first visit. Our questions were answered with knowledge and had us almost tasting the food based on the description. The food food was very fresh and the portions were good. The staff although busy during our visit was very attentive. Several times we were taken care of by someone that wasn't our main server. Dishes from previous courses were not allowed to build up on our table. Glasses never ran empty. We made several visits since then, and each time were greeted with the same level of professionalism. Even though we had a different server assigned to us, our previous server made a point to stop by and say hello, and truly remembered us. In these crazy times this place is truly a gem. Keep up the great work!

Excellent Dining in local Tavern. Went for the first time today to have a late lunch. Place was busy with all seating occupied downstairs and outside. We were offered seating upstairs at a cozy corner table. For starters my wife and I shared the crab cakes accompanied by a Bloody Mary. Crab cakes were perfectly cooked with ample amounts of lump crab. The remoulade sauce was well made and tasty. It was served along with some greens and cherry tomatoes. We both picked a fried chicken club sandwich for the main course that was served with fries and coleslaw. Chicken club had lots of bacon on top, cooked to a crisp. Waitress was attentive and very nice. We will definitely be back for seconds. Highly recommended!
