Tavern In The Square

Place is large and clean. Multiple selection of tables. Inside, outside, bench, bar, and high top.overall food quality was pretty good. Price is a little high for the quality, but not bad. Staff very attentive and friendly. Steak tips tasted great, but a couple of pieces were slightly overdone. Garlic mashed good, broccoli was actually cooked, not totally eldente. Had brownie desert, a little think. Some moist, some a little dry. Drink menu is larger than food menu. Desert menu only has four items.

Wish I could give this place >5 stars. The food was incredible and there were so many gluten free options! Pizza, chicken fingers, even macaroni. And the menu was clearly marked for specific diets/allergies. Whatever the sauce was with the crispy brussel sprouts - amazing. Guac was very good too, not a lot of filler veggies in it, just guac. I will say though the chip to guac ratio was a little high but the chips were really good. Boyfriend got the spicy cauliflower and a steak salad. The portions are quite large so we brought food home. I don't remember our servers name but he was super helpful and attentive. Just a warning though if there is a Celtics game on it is quite loud.

Good food! We went there to celebrate my wife's Birthday, and it was fun! ATMOSPHERE: Clean, a tad noisy (as it was crowded), passing grade! APPETIZERS: We got the Tavern Greens Salad = Fresh, tasty, excellent! Not enough salad dressing, but they got us more right away! DINNERS: Good quantity of food with each dinner. I got the Mesquite Chicken Bowl - it was average. Seemed to be lacking some flavor (There was definitely a grilled flavor, as the Chicken was cooked perfectly, but I expected more of a smokey flavor. Also, it could have used perhaps some blue cheese flavoring, lol). My wife and daughter got the Cider Salmon with Risotto, and that was excellent = get it! And we got the 3-Cheese Mac & Cheese to split, and we all thought it was the BEST Mac & Cheese we ever got = A+! BEVERAGES: Clean Slate Riesling 9 ounce was good (a tad pricey, but tasty). The Sam Adams Summer ale draft was super = cold and frosty! And the S.Pellegrino sparkling water was great = cold, and they had the large size! STAFF: Excellent! Leslie was our waitress, and she was attentive, and quick, as well as friendly and customer focused = A++ And we made reservations for 5:45, and were seated at 5:45 = nicely done! So we DO recommend this place -- check it out!

Do try it out for Brunch or Lunch!

WARNING: They falsely advertise they’re open until 1:00 AM on weekends but when you walk in at 12:15 AM, they’re throwing everyone out and refuse to serve any drinks or bar food. Yet they continue to advertise they’re open later than everyone else in the area. Also, at least five witnesses including myself, watched a man fall off his bar stool, then struggle to stand and walk out to his car. When two customers confronted the bartender, he shouted, “He comes in here all the time and can hold his liquor.” A second bartender said he can vouch for that. However, after drinking whiskey all night, he needed help physically getting to the door. It’s only a matter of time before he kills someone. The bartenders are overly aggressive and must be completely dependent on tips. Finally, this bar is located behind the Burlington mall and nearby office park. It’s not the safest area. At closing time, the parking lot is filled with drunk people yelling, shouting, and driving recklessly.

My daughter and I were out shopping and celebrating her birthday. We stopped here for a drink and an appetizer. The crab Rangoon and Brussel sprout appetizers were delicious!! Bonnie was working the bar and was super personable. She was the perfect amount of attentiveness, superb at what she does. A great experience!
