Not Your Average Joe's

I've been to not your average Joe's a few times before. and they were all ehhhh. so I havnt been back in literally years. I came here for a quick quiet lunch and I absolutely loved it. first time at this location. the food was amazing! I got the chicken dumplings and the chicken piccata. two very simple dishes however the flavors were like nothing I had tried at any of their other locations. Caitlyn B was my server and she was so nice and super attentive. I was very pleased with my experience.

I hadn't been to a NYAJ's in several years and was disappointed to see some of my favorite menu items were no longer available. I was a huge fan of the Not Your Average house salad with a protein add-on, usually steak tips, and nothing remotely similar existed. And the bread seemed...different. Not as fresh, not as flavorful as I remember. My burger was a burger, my fries were fries. Just an okay meal. The service, however, was great. We had a kind server who shared with us that he was a stroke survivor and he was so gracious and witty! I applaud this business for hiring someone a little bit older and giving him the opportunity to make others smile.

The worst service. We called ahead a girl who picked up the phone clearly told us there’s no wait or reservations needed. Right when my family and I got there, they looked at us weird like they never seen Asians before. So the guy at the front said “sorry reservations only” I’m very upset wasting my time driving here. Their food is mediocre not even good but it was last resort for us. Never coming here again. Definitely Racist!

Jumped over here for a lunch after a successful visit at the nearby Boston Interiors. Joe has a very cool atmosphere. The restaurant’s design is pleasing to the eye with lovely color combination of red, blue, yellow and orange, including a set of complementary mirrors and friendly lightening bodies. The music was just according to my taste and ranged between The Strokes and girls groups such as Joseph and Haim. I had a haddock fish, which was perfectly made and very fulfilling. The place was quite enough and at low capacity, which definitely added up to my good vibes. Will bring here over my NYC folks next time they show up in Boston :)
