Je Ne Sais Quoi

Based on the French name, I expected higher quality but food was very average. Rum punch was super strong and 13 dollars, but it was a large mug that was basically 2 drinks, so that was good. Mango mimosa was decent. We got the fried chicken, catfish and shrimp. It was okay. Not bad but nothing special. I've had better fried food. For sides, we selected mac n cheese, potato salad, mixed greens and coleslaw. Potato salad and coleslaw were good. Mixed greens were okay. Mac n cheese was horrible, tasted like boxed Kraft Dinner. Cornbread was good. Service was also good. I probably will not return because I have had better soul food elsewhere. By the way, they did not have ribs, tuna salad or corn. A soul food restaurant not having ribs on a Saturday afternoon is unacceptable and simply bad for business.

We tried this place despite the bad reviews. And I must admit the reviews DID NOT LIE!! For the price of our meal we should have gotten fresh fried chicken NOT re-fried chicken. The skin on the chicken was barely there it was fried so much and it was greasy. The meat was dry from being over cooked. When I expressed this to the workers. They became very rude and argued with me and said "oh well you still have to pay for it" the correct reply to my dissatisfaction would have been " sorry, how can we make this right" instead they were very very rude. This "SOUL FOOD" had no flavor!!! I ate a few bites of the Chicken and that was enough for me and don't get me started on the size of the 1/2 chicken that we ordered. The pieces were very very small. I wish they would of actually put LOVE into making this soul food!! So unhappy and I do not recommend this place to anyone!! I will post pics when I can cause they look nothing like these other pcs.
