Mac's On Hertel

Great food with selection enough to please any palate. Service is amazing. For an appetizer, we had the crunch rolls ($10.75) and they are not to be missed. I had the Brie and Bacon Burger - candied bacon, brie, salt and vinegar onion straws, bourbon bacon jam on brioche roll ($13.75). It was a religious experience. My dinner partner had Shepherd's pie - wonderful presentation, and loved it as well.

If I had to describe this place in one word, it would be bland. A lack of flavor for every item I tried, including the north buffalo limeade. The moody black & blue burger was over cooked. The mac's everything mac & cheese reminded me of tuna casserole. The steak & stuffed pepper flatbread had little flavor. I will say the grilled peach flatbread wasn't bad.

I went here tonight with my husband, in-laws, brother and sister-in law. The food all tasted delicious. I liked the place; however, there was an issue with the bees inside and dirty dishes. Like I said the food was delicious. We ordered: Brussel sprouts and chicken wing sticks (appetizers), watermelon salad with shrimp, strawberry salad with grilled chicken, house salad with ahi tuna, blackened chicken pasta dish, pesto pasta with shrimp, and meatloaf. Everyone enjoyed their food- very fresh... I know the males at out party would've liked bigger portions.

Best wings of my life! And I was so grateful they had a gluten free fryer so mine could be safe for me. Plus the service was outstanding. Our server, Megan, was so friendly and professional. Plus another server who answered our questions was amazing too. (I forget her name!) The atmosphere was excellent too! Highly recommend!

So been here a few times. A lot of Buffalonians don’t like this place because it’s an obtrusive eyesore in middle of hertel, but when ordering apps at the bar and having a couple drinks with friends it wasn’t too bad first couple times. This time was a nightmare, 3 guests in the massive building and 15 employees. Our waitress (Jayce) came over three times in 2 hours, was about to just walk out without paying, then after I walked up to bar and asked to just cancel the drink order, they went and found our waitress and sent her to our table. My ribeye was terrible, over cooked, but at the same time Ice cold. Super dry was going to ask for steak sauce but our incognito waitress never came. It’s a nice location, solid decor, but service or lack of service just was really bad. Lots of amazing places on hertel, just keep walking and find a different one instead :) typed this whole review and she still hasn’t come back. Then they said we’ll comp the drinks and they didn’t. Also asked for drinks and food separate and it wasn’t....unbelievable....
