Nye Park Tavern

I am usually a positive reviewer but this experience did not live upto my expectations. The dirty martini I ordered was good. Beer my husband got were also fine. The service was top notch. Our waitress was very attentive and sweet. Food was disappointing. The sausage pasta had almost no salt and the marinara base felt little raw. We also got 5 wings of Italian flavor which had salt missing and another 5 wings of special kind on menu which had inedible quantity of salt. The ambience, music and location of the place is lovely.

We went for a Friday fish fry and it was amazing. The fish was huge and crispy. The potato salad was great. The fries were perfect. And I don't usually like cole slaw, but this slaw was so fresh and delicious. We took advantage of their restaurant week wine special: $20.17 for a nice bottle of cab. We started with a dozen seamed clams which were great and the Buffalo style fried cauliflower was amazing. I would come back just for those. The owners are awesome. Diligent and friendly. Our server, Luke, was amazing. It was a packed restaurant and never let our waters become empty and always made sure we were all set.

My sister and I ordered our burgers well done. They were both very pink inside. We sent them back. When our burgers arrived they were so burnt on the outside. The cook threw extra unmelted cheese over it to try and mask the blackened burger. We also ordered pub cheese and that was barely warm so it sat like glue in the bowl. The waitress never asked how the food was. We had to have another waitress find her for us. The only compensation was that she told us she would let the cook know.
