The food and entertainment are top notch! The habit of burying a tip in the bill, not so much! If they paid their staff a decent wage this wouldn’t be necessary.

Been coming here for decades. The return of the kitchen is fantastic!!!! Always a pleasure to step in and hear the Frank Wilkins Band, Hakim Law’s crew or Wali Ali and Valerie Stephens.

No problems here, one of my favorite places to go when I come to Boston.

The Chicken Wings, Catfish Nuggets and Fried Okra are a MUST try. The Coco Loco'rita drink is strong and absolutely delicious. We were visiting from Ohio and we are soooo glad we stopped in!!! We had the best time and slammed on the most delicious food.

Food was 💯💯💯 and it came out pretty quickly. Best potato salad I've ever had for sure. Staff was friendly, music was great. 10/10 will come back!

This place is legit Southern food. I grew up in Texas and this is the best catfish and sides I've had in my 20 years living in Boston. No frills or fusion – just straight-up home-style cooking. The catfish is battered perfectly, the greens are savory and flavorful, and the sweet potatoes are pure candy. I would eat here nightly if I could!

This is the best chicken I ever had in my life. I’m from Cleveland but was told I could not come to Boston and not come here. It did not disappoint. I had the 3 piece chicken dinner.

Slade's Bar & Gill has been a consistent and long-time establishment for great jazz, delicious southern soul food, and good music.
'Tuesday Night Showcase' orchestrated by local music producer and pianist, Frank Wilkins (see We Jazz Up...), host an evening where local singers come to stretch their cords, and spread musical jam on hunger patrons.

Location in a great area, however the parking sucks. The place was lit with lots of people like a Friday Happy Hour Sports Bar. The place was friendly and warm. Staff was courteous, professional and gave my crew excellent service. The food was delicious and more than enough to eat. Overall. The service was excellent. I will revisit when returning to Boston.

The fried chicken wings have been nicknamed “Crack Wings” because they are so good. The menu has several traditional southern dishes. Like fried okra, collard greens, smothered pork chops and black-eye peas.
