What a nice and cozy atmosphere. Really not easy to find in the US. Easy to meet interesting people. Fair prices and knowledgeable service. Great drinks and interesting small (food) menue. We LOVED it

Super down to earth and attentive bartenders. Great menu of comfort Italian food with vegetarian options. Laid back and comfy atmosphere.

The downside at Anchovies is that they don't take reservations and the wait can be long, and there's very little room to actually wait inside. Once we sat down, the service was excellent as was the food. Great specials, linguini with clams is great, linguini with mussels was terrific, the lasagna special was great.

I've got this pasta in my top 3 Italian cuisine experiences of all time, and I travel all over the country eating Italian food. Very surprising too as it appeared to just be a basic bar w bar food. I'll be back in Boston in a week and I can't wait to come here again.

Anchovies is a red sauce joint with its own particular spin on Italian American classics. Come for the cozy quirky time worn atmosphere. Delight in the office beat but very friendly servers. Done on the interpretation of ItaloAmerican classic dishes. Enjoy cocktails beers and wines. This is clearly a local favorite. Enjoy.

This was such a surprise! We got out of a concert late on a Tuesday night and found this kitchen open until 1am or later. It’s a small bar with amazing food and awesome service. Have not had better service at five star restaurants. We got salads, fried mozzarella and an amazing eggplant parm sub. Delicious soft fresh bread with oil for dipping was brought out with the drinks. We were there for an hour and the bill was extremely fair.

Party of five came here on the first night in Boston. Three of the five of us enjoyed our dinner. Ost disliked dish was the Chicken Piccanta. Its a small place where five adults had to squeeze into a booth for four.

Cozy, traditional bar vibe that stands out amongst the higher-end bars in this neighborhood. Good Italian food, delicious crispy french fries. Front tables are bar service, back tables are table service. It gets packed!

Anchovies was so fun and full of vibrancy! The bartenders were super helpful and let me charge my phone behind the bar. We had a wonderful time there!
