Been going here for about 2 years. Have yet to have nothing short of a very pleasant interaction with staff. I’ve tried quite a few sandwiches, tons of baked goods, different drinks, pre-prepared items, all, not just good: Excellent. Best bakery in all of Boston?? I don’t know, I haven’t tried Flour’s other locations

September 27, 2023: The cucumber spritzer is gone! How is this possible? I had one just last week. An employee said it was a summer special. The new drink, cherry vanilla spritzer is quite good, but nothing like that amazing cucumber seltzer. The bread on the roast beef sandwich was thick and not tasty like previously. Salmon salad is excellent. August 20, 2023: There are several new drinks and they are all excellent: Lemon limeade and the cucumber spritzer. The cucumber is my new favorite drink. The lamb sandwich has disappeared 🤔. I tasted the coconut cake and the birthday cake. Birthday cake is lovely. Flour's coconut cake is as good or even better than the one Tom Cruise orders from Doan's Bakery for his friends. Update: June 20, 2023. There is a new version of the lamb sandwich and it is a delight. I miss the tomato chutney from the 2008-2014 lamb sandwich version. If there is anyway Flour can make the tomato chutney and charge a fee, people would buy it. That chutney with the lamb sandwich was magical. Also tried the sparkling rhubarb drink, which is fantastic and unlike any soda I've ever tasted. Totally recommend. Old review: The Cubano had a lot of ham, crunchy pickles, and flavorful mustard. All the flavors combined well. One of the best Cubanos I've ever tasted. The cupcake with the blackberry frosting was very good. Flour had run out of the lemon-lime soda that is used to top off the raspberry seltzer so they offered to top off with ginger ale. The Flour Bakery at this location on Washington Street in the South End was the first one and still the best.

Arrived on Saturday late morning for lunch. Ordered two sandwiches: braised lamb, and achiote chicken! Wanted go indulge and get the sticky buns for dessert, but atlas they ran out already. Both sandwiches were 10/10!!!!! The lamb was flavorful and very filling. Whereas the achiote chicken was light and refreshing. Meter street parking is available.
