El Celler De La Boqueria

It's not a fancy wine shop, but a way better old style market shop where you can buy wine on bulk or bottles, we tried their vermouth, rioja, and ribera wines by the glass to help as us to made our mind, we bought everything. The bulk system allows you to enjoy freshly young wines for a few euros, but there's also available botled wines over a century old. What made a difference was definitely Xavi, who was extremely kind and attentive. There's even his Cataluyna recipe for Vermouth.. Thank you!

Came across the shop while at the market, which is the best place by far in Barcelona. I was a little overwhelmed by the many different choices and then realized that by the cashier there was two barrels, one sangria n the wine. The clerk was very nice, I gave him 4 euros for both samples, which was about 3-4 oz n very tasty. I felt better abt my purchase. The should have asked if they ship to the US. The wine in Spain is so much better, my opinion. Lack of sulfites or better grapes, harvesting, i don’t know but it’s just a better taste.
