New China Restaurant

Had lunch on their outdoor patio. It was well shaded a nice view of the water. The waitress was very nice and the portions were large. My dad had the lunch special spicy something with peanuts, my daughters shared the sweet and sour chicken and i had Szechuan Beef. It was all very good. The egg rolls (sorry missed a photo) were devoured to quick. Nice flavor and a good crisp on them. Love my Szechuan Beef good flavor could have used a touch more heat but i get it never know what someone else can deal with. OH try their hot mustard on the Egg roles! It was one of the best and a good amount of Wasabi in it.

Who would think to travel to Ashland, WI to have the best Chinese food of your life? I wouldn’t have. My 15 year old son said “If I had to choose a place to live based on Chinese food, it would be here.” I’ve had Chinese food in Seattle’s Chinatown, in Hawaii, Chicago, and many other places. Seattle comes close, but this was better. Everything we ordered was amazing, and clearly made from scratch. Seriously. I would travel back to Ashland just to eat here again. So good.

Took 2 hours to get there from Vilas county Wi, but worth every mile! If you are craving real Chinese food, talking west coast quality, then this is your place. Had the pot stickers, Kung pao & lo mein. My entire meal was delicious from start to finish...and the leftovers. The waitstaff was sensational, I can't say enough about my overall experience.

I absolutely love New China. I am a regular there and the wait staff knows my usual order and drink. The food is authentic, delicious Chinese and is always a generous serving, so you'll definitely be needed boxes to go. The service is friendly and always willing to help. If you stop by Ashland, definitely stop by New China for a great meal!

Friendly staff. Food was ready within 15 minutes of placing order. I got beef lo mein and sweet’n’sour chicken. Temperature, texture, and flavor was amazing! Veggies tasted fresh. I’m from Duluth but I come to Ashland often. I always eat here because there’s no Chinese restaurant in Duluth that compares! Excellent experience.

It's been a few years since I'd stopped to eat there. I had the Suhezwan (sp?) Beef and wasn't awful. Too many onions for certain, but I like onions. Not so hot you can't enjoy the taste of the dish. Would have been nice to have more and larger cuts of beef. The rice was perfect, I wish there was more ;) I'll go back.
