Moe's Original Bbq

My favorite! The location near me closed several years ago. We have to drive over an hour to get here, but come for special occasions as we can. Always get the smoked wings and they are delicious on their own or with the sauce. The Alabama white sauce is delicious...dip wings, cornbread, fried green tomatoes, chicken, etc in it. Sooo good.

Stopped in here for lunch and had their blackened mahi, which was amazing. The baked beans were also really good. Their coleslaw is good with the pork but nothing special by itself. Their bbq sauce is a little spicy but has a good flavor. Cornbread comes with the meals and it is very soft and delicious. The parking lot is alright, better than parking downtown but can maybe fit 10-15 cars. The outdoor seating is cute and they have a little stage for live music.

One of our favorite BBQ places in Asheville. We eat here all the time but I often forget to take photos before we finish our food. Place is usually busy but today I managed to sneak in a few photos before a dozen people entered the restaurant. We had a quick lunch today - smoked Turkey breast sandwich and pulled pork sandwich. Usually we will get the delicious sides too. You have to try their hash brown casserole. Everything is so good here - catfish sandwich, ribs… Plenty of seating indoor and outdoor and good parking, A quick drive from downtown and totally worth a visit if you are craving good BBQ.

Great food. We had the pulled pork and the catfish sandwich. The pork was good but the catfish really really good. Also the cornbread was exceptional. The Mac and cheese a little dry but the potato salad was very good. Today they had a cobbler as a side and it was also very good (could have used some vanilla ice cream).

First, hands down some of the best bbq sauce I've ever had. Perfect consistency of flavor and spice. Staff at the front was very nice. White sauce was also very good. Chicken was probably the part I disliked the most. Just cut up pieces of chicken and it had no flavor. The ribs were a good size and full of meat. The pork had a great flavor. The special side of corn and sweet potatoes was great. The beans were the best. Green beans were pretty good as well. Wished we could have had a choice of brisket or a 2 meat platter, but overall, not a bad BBQ joint for a small town.
