The Lobster Trap

This is a MUST GO TO spot when visiting Asheville!! We were greeted and seated by a very nice hostess. There was live music playing and the atmosphere was just perfect. Maggie our server was so attentive, funny, and kind. She helped us pick a bottle of wine and answered all our questions about the menu. Maggie checked on us, made sure we had everything we needed, and honestly made our dining experience a GREAT ONE! Now, the food was absolutely amazing! My husband and I started off with oysters and then we each had our own lobster plate. We were extremely happy with how the food tasted, especially my husbands steak. It’s hard to find a place that knows how to properly cook a steak. Hands down one of the best meals we’ve had in a long time.

We were able to sit at the oyster bar with no wait on a Saturday night for three people. It was a really cool experience watching them prepare the oysters and plates. We got the steamed oysters red snapper and shrimp and grits and mussels. It was absolutely divine. The food tastes very fresh and well prepare. It is definitely a refined place but the prices match what you get in your plate. I recommend!

A downtown market that would make a New England resident feel at home. Parking: Free for all in downtown, there is lot right across from restaurant. No valet, unfortunately, because the car park lots can be quite busy. Food: Clambake is the way to go for full sampling. We shared Brussels, brcoolini, and mushroom caps. All in our party were content. Kid friendly? Yes depending on table access. The only negative factor is they are landlocked. So you have a narrow lane to traverse front to back. It's a tight squeeze. Worth return? Definitely!!!

This is a delicious seafood to go to, especially for lobster. The bacon wrapped scallops were worth the visit alone. We got the seafood fest for 2-5 people, and it was delicious. It includes the aforementioned scallops plus two dozen oysters, crab cakes, two whole lobsters, Dungeness crab, mussels, clams, and shrimp. You also get bread, corn, and potatoes. It was an amazing assortment of food, and we had great service as well.

This place has absolutely incredible food!!! If you don't mind paying a little extra for fresh food, I 100% recommend this place! Their servers are very nice and make great recommendations. Place is very clean and a nice looking restuarant. The surf and turf is my absolute favorite. My favorite app was the stuffed mushrooms, I'd get 3 orders if I could! Amazing keylime pie 😍 Definitely recommend! ❤️

Lobster-stuffed mushrooms were our favorite. The Lobster Newberg was great and the sauce was amazing. The steak was gobbled up by my 13-year-old. Nice big booths. My only issues were that our plates were taken away by the manager too quickly (I know, that seems ridiculous but when you pay top dollar for food, you want to be treated like you're not being rushed out the door) and the really bad, monotone live music.

What a fantastic spot for some delicious lobster! I tried the basic lobster roll and it was perfection! The staff here is incredible as well, very helpful and friendly. We sat right by the bar and watched everything being made fresh right in front of us. It was a memorable experience and despite the high price tag I still recommend trying it out once.
