Bouchon

I went here for my birthday dinner and it was a great meal. The prices were very affordable, and the food was great for the price. The mussels were the highlight of the meal for me. I really liked the sauce I got with them (I believe I chose the first option on the menu). The only negative I had regarding the food was that the vegetables were undercooked across the board with my steak au poivre, but the fries that came with it more than made up for that fact. I don't remember the waitresses' name, but she was amazing. She was actually able to understand me when I said the names of the dishes correctly (I'm French), and she had a great french accent when speaking to me in french!

Excellent food presentation. Flavors were not overbearing, as often can happen with French cuisine. Our server was not exactly attentive, yet she didn't hover over us either. A pleasant atmosphere once you enter the front door. Downtown Asheville is rough at times. Local government has not attempted to make the area more receptive to visitors. Parking is difficult on the street, but the garage is only a few blocks away.

After initially arriving I was disappointed as it almost looked like a small restaurant with a bar and not much more. Not quite fancy as I’d though. We got seated upstairs which felt much more intimate. The food, the vibe, and everything was exceptional. The chicken cordon bleu was so tender, juicy, with a nice crust on the exterior, I loved every bite. My wife had the Saumon Dijonnaise which was also really really good. The bread with roasted garlic and butter was great too. We made a mistake and did not get dessert. I will absolutely be back at the restaurant, exceptional experience

Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Bouchon. We had been trying to eat here for years but never could work it out as they used to not take reservations. Now that they do, we were finally able to enjoy delicious classic French fare in a very nice atmosphere. We were not disappointed in the least and will be back!

Excellent food, great service and cute ambiance. Nice selection of apps too! *Escargot- mmm so buttery and flavorful. I didn't know how I would feel with the little puff pastry but all it did was soak up more butter, yumm! *Sourdough bread- a little dry *fries- were crispy and not salty... that's a good thing for me :) *Chicken cordon blue- my husband loved it and said he would definitely get it again. Portobello Tatin- so flavorful and rich We loved the place. We would definitely return!

Bouchon exceeded all expectations. This was our blind choice for our 40th anniversary celebration. The food was outstanding. The fish dish was perfectly cooked. The steak au poivre was delicious. The escargot was magical. Our server, Jessie, was attentive, personable, and responsive. She could give classes on what it means to be a server. Don't hesitate.. go! You do need reservations.
